First Aid Training for the whole school

In September, all of our classes received first aid training which was delivered by Louise from Lou Botham Training doing the Mini Medics programme.  First Aid is part of the PSHCE curriculum and a fabulous life skill.

Our children in nursery through to Y1 each received an hour session with Louise learning about calling for an ambulance, bandaging, burns, staying safe while helping and asthma.

For Y2 children upwards, the children in each class were split in half with each half having a 3 hour session in the morning and the other half having their session in the afternoon. The children learnt lots of things including CPR, how to use a defib machine, looking after somebody with asthma and burns as well as putting people into the recovery position and calling for an ambulance.

Louise asked us all to check at home whether we have a first aid kit!

We had a really great time learning so many vital life saving skills.
