The Busy Bears go Pond Dipping!

We were so excited to go pond dipping to see what we could find.

We needed to make sure we stayed safe around the pond. We stayed back and sat on our knees.

We had to make sure we handled the net carefully so everything we caught went into the bucket.

We all found lots of Tadpoles!

We also found lots of Pond Mini beasts. We found a pond snail, water spider, water beetle, pond skater and water louse.

We had to do lots of careful observing to match it against our checklist!

"That's a snail!" said Jack.

"That's a beetle!" said Scarlett.

"That's horrible!" said Tommy"

"When will they be frogs?" asked Hayden.

Olivia thought the boy and girl tadpoles looked lonely so she put them together in her bucket. "They're happy now" she said.

We loved pond dipping.

We made sure we put everything we caught back in to the pond so they could continue to grow.

We can't wait to go back to check on the tadpoles.

I wonder how much they will have grown?

We continued our Mini beast search when we went back into the forest.

We found the "longest worm and the slimiest slug ever!"
