Campfire

First of all we watched Hey Duggee - Stick Badge to learn how we need to dry sticks for our campfire.

We collected sticks of different sizes for our first campfire. We ordered the sticks depending on their size!

We watched as Mrs Shaw used her fire striker, 'fluff' and the smallest sticks to start the fire before adding the bigger sticks. We all remained seated on the benches so we were safe.

We enjoyed our toasted marshmallow biscuits and hot chocolate around the campfire.

We noticed the marshmallows had melted with the heat from the fire. They were very sticky! 

We have been reading a story called "Hovis the hedgehog, bonfire night".

We decided to make a home for Hovis. We worked together to gather leaves, sticks and moss to make sure Hovis was warm, dry and safe.

We all had a go with the fire strikers. We needed to use our muscles with good co-ordination!

We persevered and we managed to make a flame.

We were so pleased!
