PE Days

This year, our PE Days are Mondays and Wednesdays! Please ensure that your child's PE kit is in school on these days or why not leave it in school and take it home at half-term to wash ready for the new term.

Reading

It is important that your child reads at least 3 times every week so that they can continue developing their fluency and understanding. Reading a mixture of fiction and non-fiction books will help your child to recognise different texts and styles of writing. When they have read, simply make a note in their reading record.

Homework

Homework will be given out every Thursday and should be returned the following Monday. Homework club is held each Monday lunchtime for those children who have forgotten to hand in their homework.

Spelling

Your child will be given a new set of spellings on a Monday and will be tested on a Friday.  Each child has a spelling booklet to practise their spellings in during the week. This booklet will stay in school! If you would like your child to practise their spellings at home, copies can be provided upon request.

Times Tables

Our aim is that by the end of the year all children will know their times tables. By the end of the year, Year 3 children should know times tables 2, 5, 10, 3, 4 and 8 whereas Year 4 have to know all their tables. We will be practising these in school on a regular basis and we encourage you to do this at home with your child too.
