Elder Beads
On our Welly Wednesday we were learning about Elder.
It has five or seven pointy leaves together, and tiny white Elderflowers that change into Elderberries. We watched this video...
A Year in the Life of an Elder Tree
When had some Elder branches and removes all the leaves, before it was cut into small pieces.
We then used a tent peg to push the pith through the centre of the Elder to make a bead. We knew to push the tent peg down so we were safe.
Next we threaded 5 Elder Beads onto string to make our own Elder Bead bracelets.
