We had a walk up to Hoyland and looked at the different houses on the way. We spotted the street 'Green Street' on this we spotted a semi-detached house and a bungalow!
We then got to Owd Martha's Yard. We explored the garden. It was so much fun.
We played games; hopscotch, noughts and crosses and kerplunk.
We found some beautiful flowers, we could name some of them; tulips, daffodils and pansies. We smelt them and some of us thought they were rather smelly!
Some of us thought they smelt beautiful!
We did some excellent observations
"this flower needs watering because it's dead"
"flowers need water to stay alive"
"flowers need soil and heat"
So we got the watering cans and decided to water the flowers!
We found some living creatures too in the bug hotel and found frog spawn in the pond.
"frog spawn turn into tadpoles and then lose their tails and grow legs which turn into frogs" an excellent explanation that came from one of the children.
Such a lovely afternoon exploring!
Once the crops have finished growing in Owd Martha's Yard they go to the Allotment Deli which is located in the doctors. We got buns and juice which we really enjoyed!
