Going Bonkers over Conkers

15.10.19

We had an amazing Autumn walk through our local area to the Forge. The children identified numerous different signs of autumn and collected lots of treasures along the way.

Have a look at the glorious things that we got up to and found!

Off we go! Can you remember why we wear the hi-vis jackets? The children were very sensible as they walked along the paths and crossed the roads. Each child looked after their partner very well and there was lots of lovely chatter.

I spy....what did we spy in the allotments?

We didn't touch these, just looked with our eyes but what are they, can you remember?

We found a Horse Chesnut tree that had lots of conkers still hanging. Can you remember how we got some of them to tumble down?

We found conkers of all different shapes and sizes. Some had flat sides, some were bumpy, some were large and some were tiny.

Who's hiding here?!

Mr Bamforth and his stick throwing powers helped us to get the hard to reach conkers!

We put all of our treasure bags into the tray so we could see what we had found, it was very exciting to look at our haul!

Now we can look and explore our autumn treasures a little more closely back in the classroom.
