Leaf Badge

This week in the forest we were looking for leaves. We watched Hey Duggee and to get our Leaf Badge we had to find three different leaves and create a rainbow leaf.

You can revisit Hey Duggee here...

We used our leaf dials and tried the match the leaves so we could identify them. We knew the long thin leaves were from the Willow.

Ella said 'They look like a feather!"

Isla found a spikey one, "It's a spikey one, but it's not a nettle!" She explained.

We found Oak leaves, Beech leaves and Sycamore leaves.

Eden's leaf was nearly as big as her head!

We made rainbow leaves using our wax crayons and a leaf under our paper. We could see the shape of the leaf and the veins.

We had time to climb trees, climb the tyres, plant a dock leaf, fill the bird feeders and find the puddles.

In the afternoon we showed our visitors the forest. They were so impressed with our forest and how the children use it.

They commented on our independence, our language, team work and how we take and manage our own risks.

Well done Messy Monkeys!!
