Bird Feeders

Today we have been learning about birds. We know all birds have a beak or bill, feathers and wings.

We know birds like to eat worms, but now it's getting colder and the ground can be hard, they can't find worms.

Oscar thought we could help the birds by digging for them. This was a good idea, but we're not in the forest everyday.

So we made some bird feeders using Cheerios.

We all sat together on our red tarpaulin. We threaded the Cheerios onto a pipe cleaner. It was tricky as they were so small.

We then decided what shape we wanted our bird feeder to be. We made some round circles, love hearts, wavy and straight lines.

We chose where we wanted to hang our bird feeders. Finding a bush, tree or branch. We think the squirrels will find them too.

We needed more water so we were safe around our campfire.

Some children helped to pull the water carrier to the tap so we could refill it.

Our campfire was bigger today to help us feel warm.  We watched as Mrs Shaw started the campfire using the fluff and fire striker.

We enjoyed toasted marshmallows, brioche and hot chocolate for snack.
