Today was our first Welly Wednesday of the Autumn Term and we loved it!
We were here, there and everywhere! Have a look and see what we chose to explore.
The children got to know each other by walking together in partners. They learnt the importance of staying together, helping each other and keeping safe. The older children really supported our new children and showed them the way to the forest, they pointed out the key features including our pond. We walked around the whole of the forest first to learn about the different areas and the rules to keep safe. The children had really good listening ears.
The Mud Kitchen was a very busy area today with lots of creative culinary delights being created!
"I'm making soup for my mummy, these are too long to go in the pan, I need to make them smaller" says Lottie
""Let's give it a mix with a spoon....Oh there isn't a spoon, let's use a stick" says Oliver
There was lots of exploring and curiosity throughout the forest. The children were inquisitive about the different sized doors found around the forest.
"I think its the fairy's house" says Teddy
"Look this one opens and it's got a blanket it in this one" says Aaron
The children certainly developed and used a lot of their physical skills to push, pull, lift, carry the loose parts. They loved the large tubes and found lots of different ways to travel; around, over, under and through.
There was lots and lots of team work and effort to climb the slippery slope to get to the top of mud mountain and then wheeeee down they slid to the bottom of the mud slide!
"I did it, I'm going again!" said Carter
Finally we all got hungry and thirsty so we washed our hands and enjoyed snack and a chat under the canopy of the fire pit.
