Funny Fungi
Today we did really well at spotting fungi in the forest.
We found a range of different fungi in a variety of places.
“It’s a tiny one” said Arlie
”I’ve found the jelly ear” shouted Molly proudly
We looked really closely at the fungi and talked about the shape, colour and patterns on them.
Can you see the different patterns and shapes of the fungi?
We enjoyed using the reference books to match the pictures to our found fungi.
Not only did we notice the fungi had patterns but also the tree bark.
”this one has lines on it” says Oscar
”let’s colour them” said Lottie
The children set about following the lines of the bark and covering them in chalk. This was brilliant for our shoulder and arm strength.
And of course our sessions in the forest wouldn’t be complete without exploring the mud slide! It was tricky to climb up today because the mud was becoming slippery. Look how we worked together and helped one another to climb to the top.
