Our School Library
We are very pleased to announce that the transformation our new school library is complete and will be officially opened by Ian McMillan on 14th November!
The library has been specifically designed to encourage and celebrate reading for pleasure in order to foster a reading culture that enriches students’ academic and personal growth and, most importantly, where children develop a lifetime love a reading. We really could not have created this amazing space without the help of our wonderful librarians who have given up so much of their spare time to organise the space. They also questionned our children about what books they would like purchasing for the new library.
We currently have lots of books, both fiction and non-fiction, for students to borrow with even more on the way (non-fiction is our next prioirty)! We have made sure that our pupils are exposed to a wide variety of high-quality texts which are diverse and mirror their lives in a relatable way.
Our inviting library space, which is the prime hub of our school, offers a safe and quiet space for students to read, study, browse and borrow books. The library has various reading nooks, comfy new shelves and carefully designed areas where children are able to choose a book and absorb themselves into its magic. All of our children have a regular weekly library slot and they are able to access the library during first break.
We have author visits to use our amazing library - Elizabeth Green visited most recently.
