Chinese New Year 2023

We've been learning about Chinese New Year. This year it falls on Sunday, January 22nd, starting the year of the rabbit.

We watched how Abbie and her brother clean the house in preparation for the Chinese New Year celebrations, and take to the streets to watch the parade, including the Lion's and Dragon dance and the Fire crackers. Click on the image below to watch again on Cbeebies.

We tried chicken noodles and prawn crackers for snack.

We ate our noodles using chopsticks.

We did some Chinese writing.

We used red card, as the colour red symbolizes good luck and is a symbol to ward off evil spirits.
