Balance Bikes

 We held a School Street Event in July 2021 with an aim to eliminate road traffic from outside schools and therefore massively reduce the risk of a road traffic incident and exposure to harmful vehicle emissions. Following this event Dominic Qaiser-Sweeting, one of Barnsley's School Streets Officers, donated six new Balance Bikes to our Foundation Stage. 

The children love using the bikes, practising their balance and manoeuvring. This is a great way to teach children about modes of transport which are environmentally friendly, whilst developing their physical strength and coordination.  

The children did ensure they were safe, making any minor adjustments with our tools. 

The balance bikes are so popular we use a sand timer to take turns.
