Science Week June 2014

Every class took part in exciting investigations, sharing with other classes

Class 2 made slime and lava lamps, their theme was magical mixtures.

Would you know how to blow up a balloon without using your mouth?

What happens when you add mentoes to diet coke?

"The first time we only added 1 mentoes and it fizzed up"

"We need to make sure the surface is flat"

What happens when you mix an effervescent tablet with water?

"5 4 3 2 1 its expanding stand back"

All the children had a great time while learning about science,these are just a few statements from the children.

"Science week was fun"

"It was good to go to other classes and take part in their investigations".

"My favourite was all the magic tricks".

Class 1- Chocolate Extravaganza! They looked at permanent and temporary changes

" The melted chocolate is a temporary change because when it cools down it will go hard again"

Class 3 investigated 'The Science of Magic!

"Wow this paper clip is standing up all on its own"

How do you get a straw all the way through an apple?

"

Class 4 looked at 'Bubbling Madness'

What is going to happen when we add a full packet?

Classes 5 and 6 looked at Exploding Phenomena 

"I thought science week would be boring but I loved making the exploding containers!"

"In class 2 we made slime,it was all gooey"

" I loved melting the chocolate in class 1 because we used candles"

These ingredients were used to make cookies.

"We can't split the split the flour ,eggs and butter now, they look completely different so this must be a permanent change"

How can you make a paper clip float?

" I can't move my finger,this is weird"

"We need to measure the right amount of water for our experiment"

" I wonder what would happen if we added 5 tablets"

"Class 4s coke fountain looked awesome! Mrs Evans had to run so she didn't get covered in coke"
