Christmas Events in Barnsley

 

There are several Christmas events happening in Barnsley that are either free or £1.50 - they must be booked. They can be found on the links below.

 

Christmas at the Town Hall: Saturday 1st December

Join us at our annual extravaganza of festive fun for all the family - Christmas at the Town Hall 2018! We'll be opening the doors to our iconic town hall on Saturday 1 December between 10am and 3pm where Santa will be waiting to meet the children of Barnsley.

The town hall will be bursting to the brim with festive activities, crafts and treats with something for all the family to enjoy. Guests can enjoy decorating Christmas cookies with sponsors Barnsley Norse, kickstart their Christmas shopping at the craft stalls, join the elves in their workshop....and much, much more.

As well as Santa, guests can also meet local councillors who will be available to answer questions about their role. and life as a councillor. The Mayor of Barnsley, Cllr Green is also looking forward to welcoming guests and will be inviting children to try on his iconic robe and chains. There will also be lots of information and stalls about the different services provided by the council so you'll be able to find out more about what the council can do to help you and your family!

1 Ticket required per family/group for each time slot which must be presented at the grotto.

Please note that you do not need to book a ticket for each child in your family/group.

 

 

Making Christmas Cards at Barnsley Town Hall museum: Saturday 8th December and Sunday 9th December

Explore exciting printmaking techniques with local artist Louise Wright and create your very own Christmas Cards to send extra special wishes to all of your family and friends this festive season.

All materials will be provided just come prepared to get messy!

Suitable for ages 4+. All children to be accompanied by an adult.

 

Supper with Santa

Can the boys and girls help make Santa appear with a little bit of Christmas magic? Join Pebbles the elf in a short magical story with cookies and a drink before joining in with a spell to make the big man in red appear! There will be lot’s of festive singing and dancing to enjoy as well.

Bookings can be made 4pm, 5pm and 6pm every Wednesday from 28th November to 19th December. Lower level at Massarella Cafe.
